Lorna: Director and owner

Lorna is the Director of Birralee extended Hours Preschool. She has a wealth of experience and expertise with more than 45 years in the Child Care Industry. Lorna started her child care career at Birralee when her parents were the owners. Since then she has worked in management within Family Day Care and Community Preschools, Director at Long Day Care Centers, and Child Care Advisor for the National Childcare Accreditation Council (NCAC) just to name a few.  In her role at NCAC Lorna travelled extensively throughout Australia providing presentations and training family day care and outside school hours care in meeting and acceding the standards for quality assurance. 

Throughout her life Lorna has also had extensive experience working with children with disability. Lorna has also been guest speaker and lecturer at many events, universities and at TAFE and she has been awarded an Australia Day Achievement Award for Service to Children. Lorna’s mantra is “Quality care, every day for every child because no child deserves less”… and this is apparent in her passion for advocating for children.
